About this bottle
Woodford Reserve's Master's Collection Series No. 20 takes the distillery's bourbon, rye, and wheat whiskies and finishes them in Madeira casks, the fortified-wine barrels from Portugal's Madeira islands, before blending in a portion of Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey. The Madeira wood carries over dried-fruit and nutty character that shows up straight through the glass: dark cherry, brown sugar, and candied orange lead the nose, with clove and nutmeg trailing behind. On the palate, raisin and dried cranberry give way to walnut and baking spice, finishing long on candied walnut. It's a limited-run bottle built for whiskey drinkers who already know their way around Woodford's core lineup and want to see what a wine-cask finish adds.
