This is a bottle from Yéyo's Día de los Muertos Volume II series, the Jalisco brand's run of hand-decorated tequilas built around Day of the Dead imagery. The series pairs sun and moon designs, and the tequila inside is bottled in the joven style, blending unaged spirit with a small proportion of rested tequila for a rounder edge without losing the agave. The nose is cooked agave, citrus peel and light pepper; the palate is smooth and gently sweet, with vanilla, lime and a green herbal note; the finish is clean and warming. Pour it neat in a copita, or build a margarita worth the bottle.
