Żubrówka Biała is the clear, unflavoured member of the Żubrówka family, the white bottle rather than the green one with a blade of bison grass inside. It is a Polish rye vodka distilled and bottled in Białystok, in northeastern Poland near the Białowieża Forest the brand takes its name from. Rye gives it a fuller mouthfeel than a neutral grain vodka manages: the nose is clean with a faint cereal sweetness, the palate is soft and slightly peppery with white bread and a touch of vanilla, and the finish is dry and warming. Serve it straight from the freezer in small glasses, or build a mule.
