About this bottle

Four Roses 135th Anniversary is the distillery's Limited Edition Small Batch for 2023, marking 135 years since Paul Jones Jr. trademarked the rose. The annual LE is Lawrenceburg's showcase: master distiller Brent Elliott selects a handful of well-aged lots from the house's ten recipes and marries them at barrel strength, non-chill filtered, in one commemorative run — this year under a label by Louisville artist Barry Martin, each bottle numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Expect a deep, high-rye-accented pour: dried fruit and warm oak framing honeyed sweetness, gentle pepper arriving late, and the length only well-aged bourbon delivers. A collector's centerpiece that also happens to drink beautifully — decant a pour for the occasion it was made for.

How to drink Four Roses 135th Anniversary

Pour it neat and let it breathe a few minutes before the first sip — barrel-strength bourbon like this opens up with air. A single large ice cube is fine if you want to tame the heat, but skip the cocktail shaker for this one.
