Using Irish oak rather than the American or French oak most whiskey ages in is unusual and gives it its own signature profile: sweet, citrussy aromatics with vanilla, caramel, banana and treacle against earthy, herbal oak spice, a chewy, buttery palate with toffee pear and toasted tannic oak, and a long finish of creamy vanilla, almond and forest fruit.
