Crown Royal Deluxe is the Canadian blend the brand was built on, first created in 1939 for a royal tour and still blended from a large library of whiskies distilled at Gimli, Manitoba. This is the three litre format, sized for a bar rather than a shelf. Bottled at 80 proof, it stays soft and approachable throughout. The nose is gentle, with vanilla, baked apple and a light floral note. The palate is creamy and lightly sweet, carrying toffee, cereal grain and a touch of oak spice. The finish is clean and short. Mix it long with ginger ale or cola, or pour it over a single cube.
