Ararat 1887 Exclusive Collection 50 Year is an aged Armenian brandy from the Yerevan Brandy Company, whose brandies have carried the Ararat name since the distillery's founding in 1887 and were reportedly a favorite of Winston Churchill. Armenian brandy is produced much like Cognac, distilled from wine and aged for extended periods in Caucasian oak, which gives it a darker, drier character than many French counterparts. At 50 years old this is among the oldest expressions the house releases, with the long cask time concentrating dried fruit, walnut, and baking spice into a dense, slow-sipping spirit. A rare bottle intended for occasional pours, not regular drinking.
