About this bottle
Louis XIII is Rémy Martin's flagship Cognac, a blend of up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie drawn exclusively from Grande Champagne, the most prized cru in the region, with some components resting in French oak tiercons for up to a century. This 1.75L magnum carries the same blend as the standard decanter, scaled up and presented in its own case for display or a special occasion. Expect a famously layered pour — dried rose, honey, and myrrh on the nose giving way to fig, leather, and spice — with a finish the maison says can last close to an hour. It's built for slow, deliberate sipping, not casual pouring.
How to drink Louis XIII Magnum
Pour it neat into a wide snifter or the brand's tulip glass at cellar temperature and take your time — this is a Cognac meant to be nosed and re-nosed over an hour, not rushed. Never add ice or a mixer.
