About this bottle
Amaro Nonino Quintessentia Riserva is an Italian digestif from the Nonino family distillery in Friuli, built on a grappa base blended with botanical infusions and aged in oak. The Riserva designation marks an extended maturation — 24 months in oak in this case — beyond the standard Quintessentia, giving it more barrel roundness and depth than the base expression. Nonino has been distilling in Friuli since 1897 and is widely credited with reviving grappa's reputation as a serious spirit category. Expect a bittersweet, herbal profile balanced by the oak aging, best suited to amaro drinkers who already appreciate Quintessentia and want the longer-aged version.
How to drink Amaro Nonino Quintessentia Riserva
Take it neat as a digestif after a heavy meal, the way it's meant to be drunk in Italy. It also makes an excellent Boulevardier or Paper Plane if you want it in a stirred cocktail.
