Amrás Mezcal Joven Americana 750ml

Amras Mezcal Joven Americana is an unaged mezcal made from Agave americana, a large, slow-growing maguey that gives a spirit with more weight and vegetal depth than the common espadin. Joven means no time in wood at all: the agave is pit-roasted, crushed, fermented and distilled, and what comes off the still is what goes in the bottle. The nose is woodsmoke, roasted agave and green herb with citrus underneath. The palate is oily and savoury, running cooked vegetable, lime pith, wet stone and a peppery bite through the middle, and the finish is dry, long and smoky. Sip it neat and slowly at room temperature, from a copita or a clay cup.
