About this bottle
ArteNOM Selección de 1146 Añejo is an additive-free añejo tequila from master distiller Enrique Fonseca at La Tequileña, the distillery behind NOM 1146 in the town of Tequila. The agave grows high in Atotonilco el Alto, above 5,500 feet, and the aging runs long for the category — around 14 months in Loire Valley Cabernet Franc casks, then another 14 in American white oak that once held Canadian and Tennessee whiskey. Bottled at 82.6 proof, it leads with butterscotch, baking spice, and vanilla, then turns to toffee, orange zest, and dark chocolate, drying out at the end just enough to keep the sweetness honest. Reach for it where you would normally pour a dessert whiskey: neat, after dinner, no ice.
