Buchanan's Coconut takes the blended Scotch that built the brand's name across Latin America and layers coconut over it, aiming squarely at the mixed-drink crowd rather than the neat-pour one. The Scotch base keeps a little cereal and malt character underneath, and that is what separates it from a flavoured neutral spirit. The nose is toasted coconut and vanilla; the palate is creamy coconut sweetness over soft grain whisky with a faint honeyed note behind it; the finish is short, sweet and clean. Serve it over plenty of ice, lengthen it with pineapple or coconut water, or pour it cold into a shot glass at a party.
