About this bottle
George Dickel Barrel Select comes from the Cascade Hollow distillery in Tennessee, one of only two producers using the Lincoln County Process — charcoal mellowing through maple charcoal before barreling — that legally defines Tennessee whiskey alongside Jack Daniel's. Dickel also chills its whiskey before that charcoal filtering, a small step the brand says smooths the spirit further. Barrel Select is a hand-selected, batch bourbon-style release built from barrels chosen for depth, landing around 9 years old and bottled at 86 proof. Expect more caramel and brown sugar than the standard No. 12, with a rounder, mellower character overall thanks to the extra selection process.
