Domaine Du Castel Petit Castel Judean Hills 750ml

Petit Castel is the second wine of Domaine du Castel, the estate that did more than any other to prove the Judean Hills could grow serious red wine. The vineyards sit at altitude west of Jerusalem, where cool nights keep acidity intact through hot days, and the blend follows Bordeaux practice with cabernet sauvignon at its heart. Blackcurrant, plum and dried Mediterranean herbs on the nose; dark berry fruit with cedar, graphite and fine-grained tannin on the palate; a savory, firm, medium-long finish. It drinks well now with air. Decant it thirty minutes and serve it with lamb, grilled beef or aged hard cheese.
