About this bottle
Don Julio 1942 is the anejo that made the brand a status pour, named for the year Don Julio Gonzalez started distilling in the Jalisco highlands, and this is the Lunar New Year Year of the Goat bottle, a decorated release of the same liquid. It is made from mature highland blue agave and rested in American oak, which is where the vanilla and caramel weight comes from. Warm oak, vanilla and cooked agave on the nose; caramel, toasted almond, chocolate and soft agave sweetness on the palate; a long, vanilla-rich finish. Drink it neat at room temperature in a small glass. It does not need ice and it does not need mixing.
