Dona Loca Mezcal Tepeztate 750 ml

Dona Loca Tepeztate is a single-agave Oaxacan mezcal made from tepeztate, a wild agave that can take twenty to thirty years to mature before harvest. Because so little sugar is packed into so many years, tepeztate drinks herbal and savoury rather than sweet, and it is one of the most recognisable agaves in the category once you have met it. The nose is crushed herbs, green pepper and damp earth. The palate turns floral and vegetal, with celery leaf, cucumber skin and white pepper riding over pit smoke. The finish is dry and long. Pour it neat at room temperature and give it ten minutes in the glass.
