Dueling Grounds American Dry Gin is the house gin from the distillery in Franklin, Kentucky, a town on the old Tennessee line where duels were once fought just across the border. American dry is the New World reading of London dry: still juniper-forward and unsweetened, but usually with the citrus and softer botanicals given more room than a traditional English recipe allows. The nose is juniper, citrus peel and coriander seed. The palate is pine and lemon with peppery botanical spice behind, and the finish is dry, clean and juniper-led. Pour it into a gin and tonic with a lemon wheel, or stir a very cold martini with a twist.
