About this bottle
El Buho Especial Arroqueno Mezcal Artesanal 2017 is a small batch mezcal made from 100% Espadín agave. It is produced in the village of San Juan del Río, Oaxaca, Mexico, by a family of mezcaleros who have been making mezcal for generations. The agave is cooked in an underground oven, then crushed by a horse-drawn tahona and fermented in open-air tanks. The mezcal is then double-distilled in copper stills. The result is a smooth, smoky mezcal with notes of cooked agave, citrus, and herbs. Enjoy it neat or in a classic mezcal
How to drink El Búho Especial Arroqueño
Sip it neat in a copitas glass — Arroqueño is a slow-maturing wild agave with real depth worth tasting on its own, orange and sal de gusano on the side rather than in a mixed drink.
