El Tequileño has been distilling in Los Altos, Jalisco since 1959, run by the same family for generations, using traditional brick oven cooking and tahona-style processing rather than the industrial diffuser method a lot of larger tequila brands have shifted to. Platinum Blanco is bottled unaged, straight from the still, showcasing the estate-grown agave without any oak influence — fresh, vegetal, and peppery with real mineral character from the highland terroir. It's a genuinely old-school, family-run production for a category increasingly dominated by celebrity brands and private equity-backed labels, and the quality reflects that traditional approach.
