About this bottle
DESCRIPTION
Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon is a cask-strength Texas straight bourbon bottled at 141 proof — uncut, unfiltered, and not for the faint-hearted. This is the 2026 release, the 12th edition, married from 118 barrels that Master Distiller Donnis Todd pulled aside as his best and left to age at least eight years in the Texas Hill Country. Those summers do the heavy lifting: the heat drives the spirit deep into new oak and back out, concentrating color, sugar, and wood. The mash is wheated — 74% white corn, 15% winter wheat, 11% barley — and the wheat is what keeps 141 proof sweet instead of sharp. Expect dark caramel, charred oak, dried fruit, and a peppery burn. It's allocated and gone fast every year. Add a few drops of water and take your time.
TASTING NOTES
Color: Deep mahogany brown.
Nose: Dark caramel and dried fruit, toasted oak, and a char of burnt wood.
Palate: Thick and cask-strength — dark caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, and dried fruit over heavy charred oak.
Finish: Long and hot, peppery spice and caramelized sugar fading into oak.
HOW TO DRINK
At 141 proof, treat it with respect — start neat in a small pour to see where it sits, then open it up with a few drops of water; it can take a lot before it fades. Skip the ice, which shuts down a bourbon this concentrated. This is a late-night, one-glass sipper, not a mixer.
