Hugo Bleu Cognac and chocolate 700mL

Hugo Bleu is a cognac presented here alongside chocolate, a pairing that works because both sides speak the same language — cocoa, dried fruit, oak and a little spice. We have left the age, blend and cask detail blank rather than guess at specifics we cannot confirm for this particular bottling. What cognac reliably gives you is a nose of dried apricot and vanilla, a palate of candied fruit, caramel and light oak spice, and a warming finish that carries cocoa and dried fruit with it. Pour it neat in a tulip glass at room temperature, take the chocolate between sips, and give both a minute to open.
