Hugo d'or XO Cognac 700mL

Hugo d'Or XO is a cognac bottled at the XO designation, which under French rules means the youngest eaux-de-vie in the blend has spent at least ten years in oak. That time shows in the colour and in the texture: older cognac trades the sharp fruit of younger blends for something rounder and drier. Expect dried fig, candied orange peel and vanilla on the nose, a palate of baked apple, walnut and soft baking spice, and a long finish of oak, leather and cocoa. Drink it neat and unchilled in a tulip glass, and give it ten minutes to open before the first sip.
