About this bottle
This is a single malt distilled on the Isle of Jura in 2011 and released under the Deer Bear Moose independent bottling label, which buys casks from Scottish distilleries and bottles them outside the distillery's own core range. Jura sits off the west coast with a lightly coastal, malt-forward character that leans more Highland than Islay despite the neighbours across the sound. Expect baked pear and barley sugar on the nose, a palate of malt, dried orange and light brine with a wisp of smoke behind it, and a warm, drying finish. Pour it neat in a Glencairn and add water a drop at a time.
