About this bottle
Poitín is Ireland's old farmhouse spirit, distilled long before Irish whiskey became an export category and outlawed for most of its history. Killowen makes it at their small distillery in the Mourne Mountains of County Down, working with direct-fired pot stills, and Pangur is their bottling of it. Unaged spirit hides nothing behind wood: the nose is cereal, green apple and a faint grassy note; the palate is oily and sweet with barley, pear and a peppery heat through the middle; the finish is clean and warm. Drink it neat at room temperature in a small glass, or use it where a gin or vodka sour would go.
