Knob Creek Blender's Edition is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon assembled by the distillery's blending team, who marry barrels from different warehouse positions rather than chase a single honey barrel. The result plays to the Knob Creek house style: full, sweet and oak-forward rather than delicate. The nose runs to caramel, vanilla bean and a touch of orchard fruit; the palate is thick with brown sugar, toasted oak and cinnamon spice; and the finish holds a warm, drying char note that lingers. It takes a splash of water well. Pour it neat, over a big cube, or into an old fashioned that needs some backbone.
