Koch Ensamble Angu is a blended mezcal from Koch, combining multiple agave varieties from Oaxaca, Mexico into one ensamble rather than bottling a single varietal. Blending agaves lets a palenque combine the traits of different plants, smoke, sweetness, earthiness, into one balanced spirit instead of showcasing just one. As with Koch's other releases, expect traditional pit-roasting and copper-still distillation behind it, giving a smoky, earthy base with layered agave sweetness and herbal notes from the blend. It's bottled unaged, so the multiple agave varieties come through unmasked by wood. This bottle suits mezcal drinkers who want to taste what an ensamble adds over a single-varietal bottling.

How to drink Koch Ensamble Angu

Sip it neat to pick apart the different agave notes in the blend, with orange and sal de gusano on the side. It also works in a Mezcal Margarita if you want the smoke to carry through the citrus.
