About this bottle
Labiette Castille Bas Armagnac is a brandy from the Bas-Armagnac subregion of Gascony, France, the area generally considered to produce the most refined armagnac within the broader Armagnac appellation. Unlike cognac, armagnac is traditionally distilled just once in a column still (the alambic armagnacais) rather than twice in a pot still, which tends to preserve more of the raw grape spirit's character and rusticity. Aged in oak, expect dried fruit, prune, and spice notes with a fuller, less polished profile than a comparable cognac. It's a good pick for brandy drinkers who want armagnac's rustic depth rather than cognac's smoother house style.
How to drink Labiette Castille Bas Armagnac
Sip it neat after dinner, the way armagnac is traditionally served in Gascony. A small splash of water can open the dried-fruit notes if the proof feels tight.
