Lil Guero Bourbon carries a seven year age statement, which puts it past the point where a bourbon has traded raw grain for real oak influence but before the wood starts running the show. Every American bourbon is aged in new charred oak by law, and seven summers in that barrel is where most of the caramel, vanilla and baking spice comes from. Expect caramel, vanilla and toasted oak on the nose, sweet corn and brown sugar on the palate with cinnamon and dry oak spice through the middle, and a warm finish of medium length. Drink it neat, over a large cube, or in an old fashioned with orange peel.
