About this bottle

Rey Campero Mexicano Joven is an artisanal mezcal from a well-regarded Oaxacan producer, made from the Mexicano agave variety (also called Sierra Negra or Cirial in different regions), a wild agave that's less commonly bottled solo than Espadin. Roasted in an earthen pit, hand-crushed, fermented in open vats, and distilled in small copper stills, it carries the traditional palenque profile with the Mexicano agave's distinct herbal, slightly spicy character layered over smoke and cooked agave. Bottled joven, unaged, it shows the agave without any wood influence to soften it.

How to drink Rey Campero Mexicano Joven

Sip it neat with orange and chile-salt, or build it into a mezcal Negroni where the herbal, spicy agave holds its own against Campari.
