Necesita Tequila Reposado is a blue agave tequila rested in oak for between two months and a year, the window that defines the reposado class. It is the compromise tier of tequila and the most useful one: the wood softens the raw pepper of a blanco and adds a pale straw colour, but the agave is still clearly the loudest thing in the glass. Cooked agave, vanilla and citrus peel lead the nose. The palate is light caramel and white pepper over sweet agave, and the finish is medium and clean. Sip it neat, or pour it into a paloma with fresh grapefruit and lime.
