About this bottle
Niulanshan Zhen Pin Chen Niang Baijiu is a baijiu from Niulanshan, one of China's oldest and highest-volume distilleries, based in Beijing and tracing its history back centuries. Made from sorghum and wheat, it's a light-aroma (qingxiang) style baijiu, aged in clay jars rather than wood for a period the label states as at least three years, developing a strong, distinctive aroma and intensity typical of the category. Niulanshan is one of the best-selling spirits brands in the world by volume, though it remains far less known outside China than baijiu brands like Moutai. This is a traditional style built for pairing with food and drinking in rounds, not for casual sipping alone.
How to drink Niulanshan Baijiu
Serve it neat in small cups alongside a meal, the traditional way baijiu is consumed in China — often with toasts shared around the table rather than sipped solo. It's strong enough that pacing yourself with food alongside it is genuinely the better approach.
