About this bottle
Overture is the second wine from Opus One, drawn from the same Oakville estate fruit and blended across multiple vintages rather than declared as a single one, which is why it drinks approachably young. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend with the other Bordeaux varieties rounding the edges, and it sees French oak before release. The nose leans red and black currant with cedar and dried herb; the palate is medium-full, showing plum, cassis, mocha and a graphite streak on supple tannin; the finish is clean and moderately long. Open it now, give it an hour in a decanter, and serve with roast lamb or a properly charred burger.
