After three decades in oak, the whisky spent a final 120 days in Pineau des Charentes barrels — the Charente region's fortified aperitif of grape juice and Cognac — before bottling at 89 proof. The finish shows: young coconut and ripe plantain up front, a mellow rum-like sweetness underneath, then anise, mandarin orange, and a faint serrano-chili warmth that keeps the sweetness honest.
