Rock Angel Caves D'esclans Rose 2020 3 L

Rock Angel is the step up from Whispering Angel at Château d'Esclans in Côtes de Provence, made from older Grenache and Rolle vines and given a portion of its ageing in large oak vats rather than steel alone. That wood contact is what separates the two, adding weight and texture without turning the wine oaky or dark. The 2020 pours pale salmon, with a nose of white peach, red currant and citrus blossom; the palate is dry and mineral, with strawberry, grapefruit pith and a saline edge; the finish is long and crisp. Serve it properly cold, and let this three-litre format handle a long table.
