Salvadores Mezcal Artesanal Tepeztate Joven 750 ml

Salvadores Tepeztate Joven is made from tepeztate, a wild agave that clings to rocky slopes and can take twenty-five years or more to mature, which is why bottles of it are scarce and rarely cheap. That long life produces one of the most aromatic spirits in mezcal. The nose is bright and floral: green mango, jalapeno, wet stone and smoke. The palate is intensely herbal, with unripe fruit, black pepper, roasted agave and a mineral spine holding it together. The finish is long, dry and vegetal. Serve it neat in a copita at room temperature; this is a bottle to sit with rather than to mix.
