Iichiko Silhouette is a barley shochu from Sanwa Shurui, the Oita Prefecture producer behind the well-known Iichiko brand, bottled here at 50 proof (25% ABV) in a distinctive frosted glass bottle. It's distilled from barley using traditional shochu methods and finished for a light, clean character rather than the richer weight of a whiskey or rum. Expect a soft, faintly nutty nose, a smooth and mellow palate with a touch of sweetness, and a short, clean finish with very little burn.
