Special Operations Salute D-Day 80th Edition Land 5 year 750 ML

The Land bottling is part of Special Operations Salute's D-Day 80th anniversary set, a commemorative series split across the branches that went ashore, into the air and onto the water in June 1944. Inside is a five year straight bourbon, long enough in new charred oak to build colour and structure while keeping the grain audible. Caramel, vanilla and toasted oak on the nose, then brown sugar, dried cherry and cinnamon on the palate, closing medium-long on oak and warm spice. Commemorative bottles are usually bought for the label, but this one drinks well on its own. Pour it neat, or raise it in an old fashioned.
