The Musician is Still Austin's straight bourbon, made in South Austin, Texas by a grain-to-glass distillery that mills its own Texas-grown grain and matures in a climate that pushes barrel character hard and fast. This is the half-bottle format, which makes it an easy way in without committing to a full 750. Expect a nose of vanilla, corn sweetness and toasted oak, a palate of caramel, cinnamon, orchard fruit and a peppery lift through the middle, and a medium finish that dries on oak. Drink it neat to read the grain, or pour it over one large cube for a firm, spice-forward old fashioned.
