About this bottle
DESCRIPTION
Cabal Reposado Charro El Crucero II is a reposado tequila — blue Weber agave rested in oak until it turns gold and picks up a layer of vanilla and spice. Cabal leans on organic agave and its own terroir, and builds this one for people who, in the brand's words, drink for taste, not effect. Expect the agave to stay in front: cooked agave and citrus up top, then caramel, vanilla, and soft oak from the barrel rest. It's smooth without going soft, with enough weight to sip. This isn't a shot tequila or a margarita filler. Pour it neat in a copita, or over a single large cube if you want it colder, and give it the same attention you'd give a good whiskey.
TASTING NOTES
Color: Light gold.
Nose: Cooked agave and vanilla, with citrus peel and a little oak.
Palate: Agave-forward — caramel and vanilla over soft oak, with a touch of white pepper.
Finish: Medium and clean, gently peppery, agave and oak trailing off.
HOW TO DRINK
Drink it neat, in a copita or a short glass at room temperature — that's where the agave and oak show best. A single large cube is fine if you want it cold, but skip the lime and salt; this isn't built for that. If you mix it, keep it simple — a tequila Old Fashioned lets the barrel rest do the talking.
