The Glendronach Sherry Cask Matured 21 year 700ml

The GlenDronach 21 Year is the distillery's long-aged sherry statement, matured two decades in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso casks and bottled at 48% rather than the softer strength most whiskies of this age get. The name on the label nods to the colony of rooks that has nested above the Forgue distillery for generations, a parliament in the old collective sense. Nine extra years of sherry wood turn everything darker: fig, black cherry and treacle on the nose, a palate of espresso, walnut, dried orange and clove, and a long finish of leather and bitter chocolate. Pour it neat in a copita after dinner and let it sit.
