William Wolf Straight Bourbon is the unflavored anchor of a brand most drinkers meet through its pecan whiskey. Straight bourbon means at least two years in new charred oak with nothing added afterwards, and this drinks like a middle-of-the-road, corn-forward version of that: vanilla and caramel corn on the nose, a soft palate of brown sugar, orchard fruit and light cinnamon, then a clean, medium finish with just enough oak to close it out. There is no sharp edge anywhere in it, which makes it a straightforward mixer. Build an old fashioned with it, or pour it over ice with a splash of water.
