Fidencio Tepextate Mezcal 750ml

Fidencio Tepeztate is a single-agave Oaxacan mezcal made from tepeztate, a wild agave that grows sideways out of rock faces and can take twenty-five years or more to mature, which is why bottles of it appear and disappear. Fidencio roasts it in an earthen pit, crushes it, ferments in open wood and distils in copper, the same as its espadin — the plant is the variable. Tepeztate is the herbaceous extreme of mezcal: green pepper, wet stone and fresh chilli on the nose, a palate of herbs, citrus and a bright vegetal snap, and a long peppery finish. Neat, small pour, no ice.
