Firme Mezcal Joven Tepeztate 750ml

Firme Tepeztate is an unaged Oaxacan mezcal made from tepeztate, a wild agave that grows sideways out of rock and can take two decades or more to mature before it is worth harvesting — which is why every tepeztate release is a small one. It is roasted in an earthen pit, crushed, fermented in the open air and distilled in copper, the same route every traditional mezcal takes. Tepeztate is the green, herbal end of the category: bell pepper, wet stone and fresh herbs on the nose, a bright vegetal palate with citrus and pepper, and a long, dry finish. Drink it neat, at room temperature, in small pours.
