Perro Verde Tobasiche 700ml

Perro Verde Tobasiche is a single-agave Oaxacan mezcal made from tobasiche, a karwinskii agave that grows on a tall woody trunk and needs far longer in the ground than espadin before it is ready to harvest. Those extra years read clearly in the glass: this is the lean, herbal, savoury end of mezcal rather than the sweet end. The nose is wood smoke, wet stone and green pepper, the palate runs herbal with celery, citrus pith and a dry mineral core, and the finish is long, peppery and clean. Pour it neat at room temperature in a copita and give it time to open.
